Our team

The people behind the work know that a die is only useful when it is accurate, clean and ready for the press. From Industria in Johannesburg, our team supports print finishers and packaging houses across South Africa with careful checking, making and dispatch.

The people who keep every order moving

At Hot Stamping Dies, the work starts with people who understand the pressure of print schedules, especially when a job must leave Johannesburg and land on a press in Durban, Cape Town or Gqeberha without delay. Our team handles brass and magnesium hot-stamping dies, embossing plates and related support with steady attention to detail, because a small error can waste stock, time and finishing material.

We work from Industria with a practical approach shaped by real production needs. That means clear communication, accurate artwork checking and proper packing for courier movement in South Africa's heat, dust and load-shedding conditions. It also means we keep job files organised so repeat orders and alterations can be handled quickly, without confusion.

  • Artwork checks before production begins
  • Die design for hot stamping and embossing work
  • Production planning for urgent and repeat jobs
  • Dispatch support for nationwide courier delivery

Thabo Mokoena leads with production discipline

Thabo Mokoena, our Managing Director, keeps the business focused on quality, turnaround and consistency. He has guided the team since 2008 and understands how print finishing works when jobs are running against deadline, machines are booked and a client needs a clean answer fast. His approach is practical: check the spec, confirm the detail and make sure the finished die is fit for the press.

He works closely with clients who need advice on sample impressions, counterforce matching or repeat orders, and he is often involved when a job needs an urgent turnaround. Thabo believes that good service is not just about making the die, it is about helping the customer avoid costly rework and keeping production moving with as few interruptions as possible.

The production and engraving bench

Ayesha Naidoo manages production, while Johan van der Merwe handles senior engraving work, and together they keep the workshop side accurate and organised. Ayesha plans the flow of jobs, watches lead times and makes sure the team can handle urgent work without losing control of the details. Johan then translates artwork and job instructions into dies and plates that are sharp, durable and ready for proper impression.

Their work is especially important for clients in offset, flexo and packaging applications where line quality, depth and repeat consistency matter. They also handle die alterations when a repeat job needs a change, and they check damage reports carefully before deciding whether cleaning, repair or replacement is the right route.

  • Die design and engraving production
  • Die alterations for repeat jobs
  • Damage assessment and cleaning advice
  • Counterforce matching for better impression control

Client support that keeps the brief clear

Lerato Molefe leads customer support and is often the first person clients speak to when they need a new die, a repeat order or help understanding what the press requires. She keeps the communication side neat and direct, which matters when a packaging house is juggling several jobs at once and needs a clear response on spec, timing or job status.

Lerato also helps clients through the enquiry form process, making sure the information arrives in a usable format for the production team. She knows that good support is not only about being helpful, but about asking the right questions early so the final result matches the press and the finish the client expects.

Dispatch, prepress and the final check

Sibusiso Dlamini handles packing and dispatch, while Megan Petersen manages artwork prepress. Between them they help close the loop on every job. Megan checks files for practical production issues such as missing detail, incorrect layout or weak artwork that could affect the finished impression. She keeps an eye on the technical side before production starts so the team is not fixing avoidable problems later.

Sibusiso then packs each order with care for courier movement nationwide, which matters when dies are travelling to Pretoria, Polokwane, Mbombela or coastal towns where humidity can affect packaging if it is not sealed properly. He keeps dispatch organised, labels jobs clearly and makes sure the right item goes to the right client the first time.

  • Packing for courier transport across South Africa
  • Job filing for repeat and archive use
  • Support for branches and clients nationwide

A team built for practical printing work

Every member of the team plays a different part, but the goal is the same: accurate dies, dependable service and sensible turnaround for print finishers and packaging houses. From Johannesburg to Cape Town, from Durban to Bloemfontein, clients come to us for steady workmanship and support that fits real production conditions not theory.

Whether the brief is a new brass die, a magnesium plate, a cleaning request or a rushed repeat order, our team treats it as a working job with real timing pressure and real consequences. That is why clients keep coming back. They know the people behind the work are hands-on, careful and ready to help when the schedule is tight.
